Swartberg Range 1987

 

Declared a World Heritage Site in 2004, Swartberg Nature Reserve stretches 121 000 hectares between the Klein and Groot Karoo, bordering the Gamkapoort Nature Reserve to the north and the Towerkop Nature Reserve to the west.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Meiringspoort (Afrikaans for "Meiring's pass") is a South African mountain pass, where it crosses the Swartberg mountain range.

 Meiringspoort between de Rust and Klaarstroom. First road was built between 1856 and 1858. Western Cape.
