The V&A Waterfront’s Silo District is set to become Cape Town’s newest art, culture and design district. The Silo District is developed around the historic grain silo–turned–Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, which is nearing completion and opens in late September.
The Silo District will be home to:
Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz Mocaa) – Opening September 2017 – The mission – collect, preserve, research, and exhibit cutting edge contemporary art from Africa and its Diaspora
The Grain Silo complex was originally built in 1921. It contains 42 silos, each 33m high which have been transformed with the construction of the remarkable Zeitz MOCAA.
